Tony Plana
Executive Artistic Director and Founder

Tony oversees all artistic, programmatic, and administrative affairs of the organization serving as chief spokesperson, fundraiser, business developer and manager of ECT. An accomplished actor and director who has starred in dozens of films, television series and theatre productions, Tony is the recipient of numerous awards for his work and is a creative force behind many of the most successful Latino-led productions in entertainment today. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Tony trained professionally at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England.

Megan Morrison
Managing Director

Megan has been an active member of the LA performing arts scene since early childhood.  She attended Los Angeles County High School of Arts as a member of the Theatre Department and went on to attain her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts at the University of California at Santa Cruz.  After working in productions, education and administration with ECT for five years she went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Educational Theatre from New York University.  Megan is thrilled by the opportunity to continue to apply her passion for theatre and education as the Managing Director for East L.A. Classic Theatre.

Joanne Lubeck Esser

Program Director

With roots in San Francisco, Joanne studied at the British American Drama Academy in London, and graduated with a BFA in Theatre from UC Santa Barbara in 2004. Before accepting the position of ECT’s Program Director, Joanne worked in the capacity of a teaching artist for several groups including East L.A. Classic Theatre, as well as performing in touring productions of "Much Ado About Nothing-Mariachi Style!" and "Romeo & Juliet-A Zoot Suit Musical". While continuing her training in Los Angeles, Joanne is a member of Teatro De Facto; a bombastic, physical, and avant-garde theatre company. Joanne is also a proud member of the Actors' Equity Association.

Bunnie Rivera
Bookkeeper

A working professional actor in film, television and stage for over 20 years, Bunnie originally served as ECT’s production manager in the 1990s. She returned to ECT in 2011 to assist using her bookkeeping skills and to help the organization move forward. She is very happy to be back on board for this wonderful and important cause.

 

Mark Schmitz
Information Technology Specialist

Mark oversees all aspects of technology including hardware and software issues. His specialties cross over to maintenance of the organization’s website, maintaining contact databases, assisting with desktop publishing tasks and video editing. His specialty is to utilize any technology that is on hand and getting the most out of every dollar earmarked for the organization’s technology needs.
