Tony Plana
Executive Artistic Director and Founder

Tony oversees all artistic, programmatic, and administrative affairs of the organization serving as chief spokesperson, fundraiser, business developer and manager of ECT. An accomplished actor and director who has starred in dozens of films, television series and theatre productions, Tony is the recipient of numerous awards for his work and is a creative force behind many of the most successful Latino-led productions in entertainment today. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Tony trained professionally at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England.

Angela Weimer
Executive Director

Angie joins Tony in managing the organization with a particular emphasis in organizational management, Board expansion, resource development, and Human Resources. A UCLA graduate, Angie brings over 25 years experience in non-profit management and fundraising with a wealth of knowledge in working within entertainment and theater arts circles.

 

Magdalena Sanchez
Operations Manager

Magdalena is responsible for ECT's general bookkeeping needs and fiscal oversight, managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and general business matters. She has been with the organization since 1997.

 

Ana Aragon

Executive Assistant

Ana, a native of Southern California and the Los Angeles area, began her career with East L.A. Classic Theatre in the year 2000. Ana’s work involves the management and coordination of a complex web of scheduling that Tony Plana requires - interweaving his professional career and presence in Hollywood to benefit the needs of the organization.

Mark Schmitz
Information Technology Specialist

Mark oversees all aspects of technology including hardware and software issues. His specialties cross over to maintenance of the organization’s website, maintaining contact databases, assisting with desktop publishing tasks and video editing. His specialty is to get the most out of any technology that is on hand and getting the most out of every dollar earmarked for the organization’s technology needs.
